Miss Karen (Director)
Miss Karen has worked with children since 1987. She has a degree in Elementary & Early Childhood Education. She has two daughters and four grandchildren. She loves to watch the delight children take in learning, reading, and playing. She believes that early experiences are important for future learning and success. Her favorite hobby is reading and she hopes everyone will catch the reading bug!
Miss Mary S. (Assistant Director & Lead Teacher-Little Lamb Room)
Miss Mary Seal has been working in childcare since 1988.She works along with Miss Leslie in the Teddy Bear’s Room and is also our assistant director. She has a CDA credential for childcare. Her hobbies include camping and taking walks to enjoy nature. Miss Mary is married and has three children and nine grandchildren. She chose to work with children because she enjoys spending time with them and watching them grow and learn.
Miss Leslie (Lead Teacher-Teddy Bear Room)
Miss Leslie has been working at Mount St. Mary Daycare for twenty-two years. She studied Psychology at Daemen College. She is married and also the mother of two scholar athletes. She is involved in activities in her community and her hobbies include cooking, gardening, and she is a fan of baseball. She enjoys making children comfortable when “Moms” and “Dads” can’t be there and having a pleasant environment, instilling values, and encouraging them to be independent are important to her.
Miss Teresa (Lead Teacher-Busy Bee and Firefly Room)
Miss Teresa has been working at Mount Saint Mary Daycare for over six years. She just recently became a lead teacher after graduating from Erie Community College with an Early Childhood Education degree. Miss Teresa has gained a wealth of experience in this field not only from her schooling but also from her hands on experience with the children. She is a teacher who believes that children learn through play, creativity and imagination. In her spare time Miss Teresa enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Mr. Tom (Summer Camp Director)
Mr. Tom began working with the campers in 1998, and became camp director in 2008. Mr. Tom also serves on the Board of Directors for Mount St. Mary Daycare. He is a professional storyteller, volunteers at Shea’s Performing Art Center, Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site, & Holy Spirit. Mr. Tom enjoys traveling, is an avid reader, and is interested in Western NY history. He is also a fan of the Buffalo Sabres & Buffalo Bills. He currently works as a substitute teacher at several schools after retiring in 2012 from teaching at both Holy Spirit and St. Margaret’s Schools.
Miss Jessica (Cook)
Miss Jessica is our Kitchen Lady! She provides lunch and snack for the children each day. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Administration. She has two children that attend our center. She strives to prepare healthy meal and snacks with the occasional special treat!
Miss Mary Ann (Lead Teacher-Before and After School Room)
Miss Mary Ann graduated from ECC in 1987 where she received an AAS and certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. She was employed in numerous elementary schools where she specialized in pediatrics. She enjoys rewarding relationships with her daughter and granddaughter. Her hobbies include reading, writing, and yoga. She enjoys working at Mount Saint Mary Daycare as the staff provides a supportive atmosphere that encourages and nurtures the children.
Miss Erica (Teacher Assistant)
Miss Erica has been a teacher’s assistant at Mt. St. Mary Daycare for almost two years. She is currently going to Canisius College for a dual major in Childhood Education and Special Education. She loves spending time with family and friends, as well as spending time outside. Miss Erica has chosen to work with children as she has always enjoyed spending time with them and making a difference in their lives.
Miss Emily (Teacher Assistant)
Miss Emily has been a teacher’s assistant with Mt. St. Mary Daycare for nearly two years and works mainly in the Teddy Bear’s room. She enjoys camping and nature, as well as staying active. She chose to work with children because she finds seeing them learn and absorb the world around them fascinating and fulfilling in every way.
Miss Norma (Teacher Assistant)
Miss Norma has been with Mt. St. Mary Daycare for nearly seven months now. She has nannied for many years and gained experience working with children professionally, beyond having experience as a mom. She enjoys working with children of all ages and thoroughly enjoys being a caregiver.
Miss Paula (Teacher Assistant)
Miss Paula assists predominantly in the Little Lamb’s room. Miss Paula has experience working with children for many years and received a diploma in Elementary Education from Daemen College. She chose to work with children because of the interactions she experiences with children. They bring her much joy and she enjoys knowing that she is aiding them in becoming the better people of tomorrow’s work. Outside of work, Miss Paula enjoys nature and her two pets.
